Job Description

A Hospital Financial Counselor helps patients understand and manage healthcare costs by explaining insurance, providing cost estimates, setting up payment plans, and connecting them to financial assistance (like Medicaid/Charity care), acting as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurers to ensure clear communication and financial clearance for treatments. Key duties include verifying insurance, explaining benefits, processing applications, collecting payments, and documenting financial arrangements. Key Responsibilities:

Patient Education & Counseling:

Explain insurance benefits, copays, deductibles, and total treatment costs; discuss payment options and financial obligations.

Financial Screening & Assistance:

Determine patients' ability to pay, assist with applications for government programs (Medicare, Medicaid) or charity care, and set up payment plans.

Insurance & Billing Liaison:

Verify insurance eligibility, coordinate pre-authorizations, communicate with insurance companies, and ensure accurate documentation for billing.

Account Management:

Update patient accounts with financial information, process payments, and follow up on delinquent accounts.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of financial interactions, applications, and arrangements.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
