The Patient Care Coordinator plays a pivotal role in guiding patients who have been prescribed surgical procedures, helping them move confidently from a state of pain and uncertainty to recovery and well-being.
This role acts as the
single point of trust and coordination
between the patient, doctor, insurance teams, and internal hospital stakeholders to ensure a seamless, compassionate, and well-executed care journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Counseling & Emotional Support
Meet patients who have been prescribed surgical procedures and engage with them in a calm, empathetic, and reassuring manner.
Clearly explain the surgical journey, from consultation to admission, surgery, discharge, and recovery, using patient-friendly language.
Proactively identify patient anxieties, fears, or hesitations and address them through clarity, education, and reassurance.
2. Doctor Alignment & Care Execution
Understand the treating doctor's clinical approach, intent, and recommended care pathway.
Act as an extension of the doctor by ensuring the treatment plan is communicated and executed accurately across teams.
Maintain strict adherence to clinical instructions while translating them into actionable steps for patients and support teams.
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate seamlessly with:
Concierge and admission teams for scheduling and logistics
Business and billing teams for financial clarity and transparency
Doctors and nursing staff for timely clinical execution
Track progress across all touchpoints to ensure zero gaps or delays in the patient journey.
4. Ownership of the Patient Journey
Take end-to-end ownership of assigned patients--from surgery recommendation to post-procedure stabilisation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and their families throughout the journey.
Ensure patients feel supported, informed, and cared for at every stage of their treatment.

Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work closely with doctors and clinical teams with professionalism and discretion
Comfort working in fast-paced hospital environments
Educational Background & Experience
Graduate in any discipline (Healthcare, Life Sciences, Nursing, Allied Health, or Management preferred)
Prior experience in hospitals, patient coordination, healthcare operations, insurance coordination, or patient experience roles is an advantage
