Job Summary
The After-Hours Patient Support Specialist provides critical support outside regular business hours by handling patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with healthcare providers. This role ensures seamless communication between patients, hospitals, labs, and on-call physicians while maintaining compliance with U.S. healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Support & Communication
Answer incoming patient calls promptly and professionally.
Address patient questions regarding appointments, prescriptions, and general healthcare concerns.
Resolve issues or escalate to appropriate clinical staff when necessary.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments across multiple hospitals, labs, and diagnostic centers.
2. Healthcare Coordination
Receive calls from hospitals, labs, and diagnostic centers; respond to queries efficiently.
Notify on-call physicians immediately about critical lab or diagnostic results.
Maintain accurate communication logs for all interactions.
3. Clinical Data Management
Index and organize clinical documents in compliance with HIPAA standards.
Manage prescription requests and updates.
Download reports from various healthcare portals and ensure proper documentation.
Review lab and radiology reports for completeness and escalate abnormalities per protocol.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
Associate or Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related field (preferred)
Experience
Prior experience in U.S. healthcare operations, patient support, medical call centers, or healthcare coordination (preferred).
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and HIPAA compliance.
Ability to work independently during after-hours with minimal supervision.
Work Schedule
After-hours shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as per business requirements.
Compliance
Adherence to HIPAA and all applicable U.S. healthcare privacy and security regulations is mandatory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
