Job Description

1. Sample Collection and Handling:

Receive and properly label specimens from patients.

Ensure the accurate and timely collection of samples, following established protocols.

Safely handle and store specimens to maintain their integrity for testing.

2. Laboratory Testing:

Biochemistry

Serology

Hematology

Urine analysis

Hormone analysis

Microbiology

Stone analysis

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers like Sphera.

Follow standardized procedures and protocols to ensure accurate and reliable test results.

3.Quality Control:

Conduct regular quality control checks to verify the accuracy and precision of laboratory instruments and testing procedures.

Document and report any deviations or abnormalities in test results.

4. Data Entry and Record Keeping:

Enter patient and test information into the software accurately.

Maintain detailed records of test results, quality control data, and other relevant information.

5. Communication:

Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals who may have questions or concerns about laboratory testing.

Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory technologists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss test results and provide necessary information.

6. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

Identify and troubleshoot issues with laboratory equipment or test procedures.

Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.

7. Continuing Education:

Stay informed about advances in pathology and laboratory technology through continuous education and training.
