Position
As the Head of Pathology, you will play a pivotal role in leading our pathology services, ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic testing, patient care, and staff development, while driving continuous quality improvements and operational excellence.
Responsibilities

• Leadership & Operations

• Ensure the smooth running of the pathology unit while providing leadership, mentoring, and staff development.
• Collaborate with senior management and doctors to ensure high-quality testing results and exceed customer expectations.
• Take accountability for services, ensuring professional laboratory services are always provided.
• Foster and maintain effective communication and a positive working relationship among hospital staff, patients, and the public.
• Patient & Clinical Management

• Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of tests, make necessary changes, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Resolve service or quality issues and provide routine written reports on operational metrics.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance diagnostic services and maintain well-functioning equipment.
• Human Resource Management & Staff Development

• Ensure appropriate training and continuing education for lab personnel to maintain high competency levels.
• Mentor and support the professional development of staff through competency-based training and role modeling.
• Create a conducive environment for educational experiences and innovation within the department.
• Act as a mediator in conflicts and counsel staff and patients when necessary.
• Fiscal & Resource Management

• Establish and monitor inventory standards for supplies, medications, and equipment.
• Manage the section's budget and ensure cost control with efficient use of manpower.

Qualifications

• MD in Pathology with 0-3 years experience
