Prepare, file, and manage Indian patent applications, FER responses, amendments, working statements (Form 27), and other IPO-required forms.
Track deadlines for FER responses, annuities/renewals, publication, examination requests, and hearings.
Coordinate with the Indian Patent Office, including e-filing and updating matters through the IPO's online systems.
Review and route IPO communications; update docket and report to attorneys/clients.
2. International & PCT Patent Prosecution
PCT
Prepare and file PCT applications, forms, sequence listings, and supporting documents via WIPO ePCT.
Assist with ISA/WO communications, IPRP, and compliance with PCT time limits.
U.S. Patent Prosecution
File U.S. patent applications, IDSs, assignments, declarations, and follow-up formalities via USPTO Patent Center.
Review USPTO Office Actions, filing receipts, and reports for docket updates.
Coordinate with U.S. attorneys for responses and submissions.
Foreign National Filings
Coordinate with foreign associates to file national phase applications (EP, CN, JP, KR, AU, etc.).
Track deadlines for translations, formal documents, and priority claims.
Prepare reporting letters and document status updates for clients.
3. Docketing & Compliance
Maintain a comprehensive docket of Indian, PCT, U.S., and foreign deadlines.
5. Administrative & Operational Tasks
Prepare billing documentation, time entry summaries, and cost estimates for filings.
Support internal quality reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency in filings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
2-5+ years of experience in an IP law firm
Strong understanding of Indian Patent Act & Rules and IPO online systems.
Familiarity with PCT rules and procedures and WIPO ePCT filing system.
Experience with U.S. and other international patent filing formalities is highly desirable.
Exceptional attention to detail, multitasking ability, and communication skills.
