Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and bakery items with consistency and excellence.
Develop new dessert menus and seasonal specials aligned with the Merlis brand standards.
Ensure superior quality, taste, and presentation of all pastry products.
Manage daily pastry kitchen operations, including production planning and mise-en-place.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Control food costs, manage inventory, and minimize wastage.
Train, guide, and supervise junior pastry chefs and commis staff.
Coordinate with Executive Chef and kitchen team for menus, events, and special functions.
Ensure timely preparation for buffets, a la carte service, banquets, and celebrations.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Bakery & Pastry Arts / Hotel Management.
Minimum
2-5 years of experience
as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a reputed hotel or restaurant.
Strong knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques.
Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for desserts.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Team-oriented with good communication and leadership skills.
