Job Description


Supervises and participates in the preparation of pastries and desserts

\xc2\xa7 Develops menu for baked items

\xc2\xa7 Relays feedback of kitchen employees to department manager

\xc2\xa7 Provides input for creation of baked goods

\xc2\xa7 Completes daily food production sheets and other reports

\xc2\xa7 Inspects orders to ensure high quality and presentation

\xc2\xa7 Creates signature pastries, desserts and daily specials with approval from Executive Chef

Prepares and inspects food to maintain quality standards

\xc2\xa7 Inspects ingredients upon delivery and before use to ensure quality

\xc2\xa7 Assists in quarterly inventories and recommends stock amounts to Executive Chef

\xc2\xa7 Stores unused food properly to minimize waste

\xc2\xa7 Shares food and beverage complaints with Executive Chef and works to resolve

\xc2\xa7 Ensures department adheres to Carlson, hotel, local and state health, hygiene and safety policies

Works with other departments to efficiently operate kitchen

\xc2\xa7 Assist Executive Chef and Sous Chef as needed

\xc2\xa7 Coordinates kitchen staffing and food quantities with high volume periods for banquets, restaurants, and bar

\xc2\xa7 Reports special requests, food spoilage, and other Pastry concerns to Executive Chef

\xc2\xa7 Responds quickly and accurately to requests for special accommodations

Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Yes I Can! experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations

\xc2\xa7 Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service

\xc2\xa7 Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems

\xc2\xa7 Provides Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis

\xc2\xa7 Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction

\xc2\xa7 Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality

Adheres to hotel policies and procedures

\xc2\xa7 Attends work on time as scheduled

\xc2\xa7 Follows hotel grooming and hygiene standards

\xc2\xa7 Minimises safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures

\xc2\xa7 Keeps immediate manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance

\xc2\xa7 Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position

\xc2\xa7 Maintains a favourable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote co-operative and harmonious working climate

\xc2\xa7 At all time projects a favourable image of Brand to the public
