to support our pastry department in daily production, preparation, baking, finishing, and presentation of premium European-style bakery and dessert items. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in European pastry techniques with strong knowledge of doughs, fillings, and finishing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparation and production of pastries, viennoiseries, cakes, desserts, breads, and seasonal items according to recipes and production schedule.
Perform precise ingredient measurement, mixing, shaping, laminating, baking, and finishing processes.
Work with dough lamination for croissants, puff pastry, and similar products to ensure consistent texture, layers, and quality.
Operate kitchen and pastry equipment safely and effectively, including sheeters, ovens, mixers, and piping tools.
Decorate, glaze, frost, fill, and present pastries with attention to detail and European aesthetic standards.
Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene in all work areas; follow food safety and sanitation protocols.
Assist with receiving and storing supplies; maintain inventory, labelling, rotation (FIFO) and minimizing wastage.
Support dessert plating during service when required.
Communicate and coordinate efficiently with the Head Pastry Chef and team members.
Participate in new product development and seasonal menu upgrades when required.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum
1 year experience in European pastry/bakery production
or
formal
high-quality pastry training from a reputed culinary institution
.
Dough lamination experience is mandatory
(croissants, puff pastry, viennoiseries).
Strong knowledge of pastry processes, ingredients, and professional kitchen equipment.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends or peak hours when required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and consistency.
Must be reliable, disciplined, and passionate about pastry craftsmanship.
