1. ICT Infrastructure Design
? Plan and design structured cabling systems, including fiber optics and copper cabling.
? Develop layouts and schematics for passive network components such as patch panels, racks,
and conduits.
? Design pathways for cable routing that ensure optimal performance and compliance with
standards.
2. Installation and Implementation
? Oversee the installation of cables, ducts, trays, and related passive infrastructure.
? Supervise the mounting of racks, patch panels, and wall outlets.
? Ensure all installations comply with industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
3. Documentation and Inventory Management
? Maintain accurate records of all passive infrastructure, including cabling maps and inventory.
? Update documentation after changes or upgrades to infrastructure.
? Ensure labeling and tagging of cables, racks, and other components for easy identification.
4. Vendor and Contractor Coordination
? Supervise contractors during the installation or maintenance of passive systems.
? Evaluate contractor performance and adherence to specifications.
5. Standards and Compliance
? Ensure installations meet regulatory and safety standards.
? Stay updated on advancements in passive ICT technologies and implement best practices.
? Comply with organizational policies for infrastructure setup and management.
6. Project Management
? Participate in planning and execution of passive ICT projects.
? Estimate costs, timelines, and resource requirements for cabling and infrastructure projects.
? Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure projects meet functional requirements.
? Billing and measurements.
7. Risk Management
? Identify risks associated with passive infrastructure and develop mitigation plans.
? Implement measures to protect cables and equipment from physical damage and environmental
factors.
? Conduct regular audits to ensure system reliability.
8. Collaboration with Active Teams
? Work closely with active network teams to ensure seamless integration of passive components.
? Support troubleshooting of network issues that may involve passive elements.
