We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles, with experience in cost management and financial analysis. This role is crucial in providing accurate cost estimates for projects, analyzing financial reports, and supporting budgeting processes. The Cost Estimator will work closely with various departments to ensure that all financial data is accurately captured and reported.
Duties
Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analyzing labor, materials, and overhead costs.
Conduct cash flow analysis and forecasting to support project planning.
Utilize accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero for financial reporting and data management.
Perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Analyze financial reports for interpretation of data related to costs, budgets, and forecasts.
Collaborate with the accounting team on accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Maintain compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations in all financial practices.
Support corporate accounting functions including payroll processing and general ledger accounting.
Conduct thorough data collection for accurate financial analysis and reporting.
Assist in budgeting processes by providing insights based on cost management strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping and technical accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Quicken) and ERP systems.
Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
