About the Role


------------------


We are looking for a part-time Accountant with prior experience working in a Chartered Accountant's office to manage day-to-day accounting, compliance support, and financial record-keeping. The role involves handling both business and founders' personal financial matters and coordinating closely with the Chartered Accountant for periodic filings, reporting, and audits.



The ideal candidate should be disciplined, detail-oriented, and capable of independently handling routine accounting and compliance tasks, similar to responsibilities performed in a CA firm.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping



Record daily accounting entries in Tally or similar accounting software for multiple entities. Maintain company accounts as well as founders' personal accounts. Handle petty cash and maintain daily cash summaries. Maintain organized digital and physical records of vouchers, bills, and statements. Prepare simple monthly or quarterly financial summaries. Perform regular bank, cash, and credit card conciliation. Ensure accurate classification of business and personal expenses.

GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance Support



Record GST-related transactions (output, input, RCM, etc.). Assist in preparation of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and reconciliation with books. Maintain GST working papers and data required for filings. Record TDS entries and assist in preparation of TDS returns (24Q, 26Q, etc.). Reconcile TDS with Form 26AS / relevant statements. Maintain a compliance calendar/reminder sheet to ensure no statutory deadlines are missed. Coordinate with the Chartered Accountant for review and final filing.

Income-Tax Compliance & Reporting Support



Maintain income-tax related working papers for individuals and entities. Prepare capital gains workings (equity, mutual funds, property, etc.) based on transaction statements. Assist in computation of advance tax and self-assessment tax. Track due dates for advance tax, TDS, and income-tax filings. Compile data required for preparation of income-tax returns. Assist in reconciliation of income, TDS, and tax data with AIS / Form 26AS. Support documentation and responses for routine income-tax notices under CA guidance.

Personal Finance & Expense Management



Track and record personal expenses alongside business accounts. Maintain records of credit card transactions, outstanding balances, and due dates. Monitor payments and prepare periodic expense summaries.

Payments & Reconciliation



Process bills, invoices, and vendor payments. Track purchases and transactions from online platforms. Reconcile bank accounts, vendor ledgers, and internal statements. Follow up internally for missing bills or payment clarifications.

Coordination & Reporting



Prepare daily or periodic financial summaries, expense reports, and cash flow snapshots. Assist in preparing basic MIS reports for management review. Maintain updated records to enable net worth tracking of individuals and businesses. Coordinate with the Chartered Accountant for: + GST, TDS, and Income-tax filings + Advance tax workings
+ Financial statements and audits
Ensure timely sharing of accurate data and documents with the CA. Maintain well-organized documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

Requirements



B.Com / M.Com / BBA (Finance) or equivalent commerce background. Strong preference to candidates with a Finance background. Minimum

2-6 years of hands-on experience

working in a Chartered Accountant's office or under a practising CA (strongly preferred). Practical knowledge of: + Tally or similar accounting software + GST & TDS compliance processes
+ Income-tax compliance support
Proficiency in

Tally and MS Excel

(basic formulas, reconciliation sheets). Familiarity with GST, TDS, and Income-tax portals. Ability to prepare working papers and compliance data for CA review. Comfortable handling routine accounting and compliance tasks independently. High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and discipline. Ability to manage both business and personal financial records.
