. The candidate will be responsible for part programming, process planning, machine setup coordination, and ensuring quality, productivity, and material optimization.
Key Responsibilities:1. Laser Cutting Machine:
Create and modify
laser cutting programs
based on drawings and CAD files.
Optimize cutting parameters such as speed, power, gas selection, and nesting.
Ensure minimum material wastage through efficient
nesting and layout planning
.
Troubleshoot cutting defects and ensure smooth machine operation.
Coordinate with production team for job prioritization and deadlines.
2. Turret Punching Machine:
Prepare
turret punching programs
including tool selection and sequencing.
Plan punching operations to avoid deformation and tool damage.
Ensure correct tool setup, alignment, and tool life management.
Optimize punching cycle time and part quality.
Support trial runs and first-article approval.
3. CNC Bending Machine:
Develop
CNC bending programs
as per part drawings.
Select appropriate tools, dies, and bending sequences.
Calculate bend allowance, K-factor, and springback.
Support operators during setup and ensure correct angle and dimensions.
Resolve bending-related quality issues.
4. Process Planning & Documentation:
Analyze engineering drawings and BOMs for manufacturability.
Prepare
process sheets, operation sequences, and work instructions
.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
Coordinate with QA for inspection requirements.
5. Production & Coordination:
Work closely with production, quality, and design teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for productivity and cost reduction.
Monitor daily production issues and provide technical solutions.
Assist in new part development and process trials.
Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
Strong knowledge of
sheet metal fabrication processes
.
Hands-on experience with
Laser Cutting, Turret Punching, and CNC Bending machines
.
Proficiency in
CAD/CAM software
(AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
Good understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and sheet metal materials.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in nesting software and machine-specific controllers.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process optimization.
Ability to handle multiple jobs and meet tight deadlines.
