The Painter is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appearance and protective coatings of all hotel buildings, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality finishes while ensuring guest comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities:Painting & Finishing Work
Perform painting, polishing, varnishing, and surface finishing in guest rooms, public areas, and exterior structures.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks/holes, applying primer, and ensuring proper adhesion.
Mix, match, and apply paints, stains, varnishes, and wall coverings as per standards.
Execute touch-up work to maintain a fresh and appealing appearance throughout the property.
Maintenance & Repair
Inspect paint conditions regularly and report areas requiring repair or repainting.
Repair minor wall damages such as dents, scratches, damp patches, and cracks before painting.
Apply waterproof coatings, anti-corrosion paints, and other protective finishes where required.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures, proper PPE usage, and safe handling of chemicals/paint products.
Ensure ventilation and workspace safety during painting jobs, especially in guest-occupied areas.
Dispose of waste materials responsibly in accordance with hotel and environmental guidelines.
Coordination & Work Management
Coordinate with Engineering, Housekeeping, and other departments to plan work without disrupting guests.
Ensure all works are completed within scheduled timelines and quality standards.
Maintain a record of daily tasks, materials used, and job completion reports.
Tools & Inventory
Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
Monitor inventory for paint, brushes, rollers, thinner, primer, and other related materials.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
Good understanding of surface preparation and finishing methods.
Ability to match colors and maintain consistency.
Attention to detail and ability to deliver neat, clean, high-quality work.
Basic knowledge of waterproofing and wall repair.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Knowledge of safety standards related to paints and chemicals.
Qualifications & Experience:
SSLC / Higher Secondary preferred.
Professional certification in painting/maintenance is an added advantage.
Minimum 1-3 years of painting experience, preferably in hotels or commercial buildings.
Experience with both interior and exterior painting.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, climb ladders, stand or bend for long hours.
Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor areas when required
