Job Description

A Paint Shop SUPERVISOR / Asst.Manager in the heavy fabrication industry oversees all blasting, painting, and coating operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety. Key responsibilities include managing teams, optimizing production schedules, enforcing strict environmental and safety standards (e.g., VOC, PPE), and maintaining equipment like spray booths. The role requires experience in industrial coatings, surface preparation, and leading teams within heavy engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management:

Plan, schedule, and oversee daily paint shop operations (blasting, priming, top-coating) to meet fabrication deadlines.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all surface preparations and paint finishes adhere to client specifications and ISO/QMS standards, minimizing rework.

Team Leadership:

Supervise, train, and mentor painters and technicians to improve skill levels and ensure safety compliance.

Safety & Compliance:

Enforce health and safety regulations (PPE, ventilation) and hazardous waste management.

Maintenance & Inventory:

Monitor inventory of paint, solvents, and materials, and ensure proper maintenance of spray booths and equipment.

Process Improvement:

Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve throughput.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production/Chemical) or equivalent experience.

Experience:

5-10 years in a heavy manufacturing or industrial paint shop, with 3-8 years in a managerial role.

Technical Knowledge:

Deep understanding of industrial paint types, coating application methods, and blasting techniques.

Skills:

Strong leadership, budgetary management, problem-solving, and proficiency in, or ability to learn, production management software.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Adherence to production schedule (delivery). Reduction of rework/rejections. Paint consumption optimization. Zero safety incidents.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
