Job Summary:

As a

Paint Shop Operator / Paint Technician.

, you will be responsible for performing

pre-treatment and powder coating operations

on heavy equipment components to ensure excellent surface finish, durability, and corrosion resistance. You will follow process standards, quality parameters, and safety protocols to achieve production and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out

chemical pre-treatment processes

such as degreasing, phosphating, rinsing, and drying of components. Operate

powder coating guns, booths, and ovens

as per SOPs and maintain uniform coating thickness. Check surface finish, curing temperature, and color consistency before and after coating. Monitor oven temperature, conveyor speed, and ensure proper baking/curing of coated components. Handle and store powder materials safely, following MSDS and safety standards. Conduct

visual inspection and quality checks

for paint defects (orange peel, pinholes, undercoat, uneven coating, etc.). Maintain daily production and process log sheets. Support preventive maintenance of painting and pre-treatment equipment. Follow

5S, Kaizen, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)

practices in the paint shop. Coordinate with the quality and maintenance team for process improvements and troubleshooting.

Qualification & Experience:

Education:

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile / Paint Technology / Surface Coating or equivalent.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in

powder coating and pre-treatment processes

(preferably in a heavy engineering or construction equipment manufacturing industry).

Fresher

candidates with relevant training and good technical knowledge may also apply.

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of

powder coating process and chemical pre-treatment

. Familiar with

DFT (Dry Film Thickness) measurement, adhesion, and gloss testing

. Understanding of

paint booth, oven, and air handling systems

. Basic knowledge of

process parameters, safety, and quality control

. Teamwork, discipline, and problem-solving attitude.
