Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scrub nurse duties for pediatric cardiac surgical procedures, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques. Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical fields. Anticipate surgeon requirements and assist effectively throughout cardiac procedures. Ensure correct handling, counting, and documentation of surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps. Support patient safety through compliance with surgical safety checklists and protocols. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and OT nursing teams. Participate in infection prevention, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives. Maintain accurate perioperative documentation and comply with hospital and accreditation standards. Assist in training and mentoring junior OT nursing staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

Registered Nurse (RN) / GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post-Basic Nursing

Minimum 5 years of experience

as a scrub nurse, preferably in

pediatric cardiac or cardiac OT

. Certification in

BLS and PALS/ACLS

preferred. Proven competence in handling pediatric cardiac surgical instruments and procedures.
