Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Packing Supervisor to oversee the packing operations in our refinery's packaging department. You'll lead a team to ensure efficient, timely, and compliant packaging of edible oils while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management:
- Supervise packing operators, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
- Train staff on SOPs, safety, and equipment handling.
- Operations Oversight:
- Ensure smooth workflow in filling, labeling, sealing, and palletizing.
- Coordinate with production, logistics, and quality control teams.
- Manage inventory (raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials).
- Quality Control:
- Verify product specifications, labeling accuracy, and packaging integrity.
- Conduct regular checks for contamination, damage, or leaks.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce PPE usage, emergency procedures, and regulatory standards (ISO, HACCP, etc.).
- Report incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Coordinate equipment maintenance with the maintenance team.
- Address machinery issues to minimize downtime.
- Documentation:
- Maintain production logs, batch records, and dispatch reports.
- Problem-Solving:
- Resolve operational bottlenecks (delays, shortages, etc.).
- Miscellaneous:
- Conduct shift handover, manage overtime, and ensure housekeeping.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial).
- Experience: 3-5 years in a manufacturing/packing environment (oil preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication.
- Knowledge of packaging machinery (filling, capping, labeling).
- Basic computer skills (Excel, ERP systems).
- Time management and attention to detail.
- Certifications: Food Safety (FSSAI) or ISO awareness; safety training (OSHA/NEBOSH).
- Physical: Ability to stand for long periods, lift objects (up to 15 kg), and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience with refinery products.
- Familiarity with GMS (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Working Conditions
- Shift: Rotating shifts (day/night, weekends).
- Environment: Industrial setting (noise, heat, chemicals).
- PPE: Mandatory safety gear (helmets, gloves, etc.).
