Role Summary
The Team Lead - Study Abroad Counselling will be responsible for:
Achieving an individual annual recruitment target of 75 student placements across partner universities worldwide.
Leading and managing a team of 3 Study Abroad Counselors and 3 Customer Support Executives.
Ensuring excellence in student counselling, team productivity, and admissions conversions.
Managing end-to-end admissions knowledge for at least three of the seven key destinations: UK, Ireland, France, UAE, Australia, New Zealand, and Germany.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead, mentor and supervise a team of 3 counselors + 3 customer support staff.
Set weekly/monthly performance goals and track achievement against KPIs.
Conduct ongoing training, role-play sessions, and skill enhancement workshops.
Ensure adherence to counselling standards, documentation accuracy, and process compliance.
Monitor productivity, follow-ups, quality of counselling, and conversion ratios.
Review complex or escalated cases and support team members with decision guidance.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide structured feedback.
Maintain discipline, professional standards, and student-first culture within the team.
Student Counselling & Conversion
Counsel students on course selection, country fit, and university options.
Provide accurate guidance on admissions, deadlines, scholarships, financial requirements, SOP/LOR preparation, and visa documentation.
Ensure every student application moves smoothly through each milestone.
Track individual student journeys from enquiry ? application ? offer ? visa ? departure.
Maintain high conversion ratios and high student/parent satisfaction.
Targets & KPIs
75 confirmed student placements annually (individual target).
Team performance achievement across enquiries, applications, offers, and visa conversions.
High student satisfaction rating and adherence to TAT (Turnaround Time) benchmarks.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree (any discipline).
5-7 years of experience in study abroad counselling, with minimum 1 year in a team lead/supervisory role.
End-to-end admissions expertise for at least three countries among UK, Ireland, France, UAE, Australia, New Zealand, and Germany.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Strong organising ability and problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work with targets and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Proficiency in CRM tools and counselling documentation standards.
