Founded in 2004, by Poonam Bagai, herself a cancer survivor, CanKids KidsCan is a national NGO working in India to address the needs of children with cancer and their families. CanKids is dedicated to driving Change for Childhood Cancer in India with an ambitious goal to achieve Universal health coverage through 100% Access2Care & 100% Financial Protection by 2030 aligned to the WHO GICC (Global Initiative on Childhood Cancer) and Sustainable Development Goals, thereby securing the Rights to health, education, childhood, pain-free and palliative care and the Right to be heard for all children with cancer (0-19 years) in India.
CanKids is the only organization in India working at all levels - grassroots, district, state, and national- and partnering and supporting hospitals, health authorities and professionals for the last 20 years to improve the quality/standard of treatment, care, and other holistic support services. Through its 141 CanKids Hospital Support Unit (CHSU) projects, CanKids ensures access to the best possible care for children with cancer and their families.

Department Overview
The Resource Mobilization Department is responsible for acquiring flexible, long-term funding and partnerships through institutional, retail, HNI, and CSR channels. The team works strategically to build donor networks, design and deliver impactful campaigns, ensure stewardship, and align donor interests with Cankids' mission.
Job Summary
The Outreach Manager will lead the planning, execution, and fundraising of CanKids' event-based initiatives, including awareness campaigns, fundraising drives, donor activations, and community events. The role is a dynamic blend of event management, donor engagement, partnerships, and revenue generation through strategic outreach and public participation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Strategy & Planning
Design and execute an annual calendar of fundraising and awareness events (e.g., Cycle for Gold, Go Gold Gala, Light a Lamp, school fundraisers).
Develop event concepts and budgets aligned with outreach and revenue goals.
Ensure events are brand-aligned and effectively communicate CanKids' mission and impact.
2. Fundraising & Revenue Generation
Set fundraising targets for each event and ensure they are met or exceeded.
Identify and approach individual donors, schools, local businesses, and community groups for sponsorships, donations, and in-kind support.
Enable peer-to-peer fundraising and promote individual donor engagement through events.
3. Donor & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with the Retail Fundraising and HNI teams to involve existing and potential donors in events.
Build partnerships with schools, colleges, RWAs, corporates, and other community-based groups.
Create customized donor engagement opportunities through event participation and visibility.
4. Marketing & Outreach
Coordinate with the Communications Team for event promotion across digital and offline platforms.
Ensure effective branding, storytelling, and awareness messaging during events.
Develop collaterals and campaigns to maximize participation and visibility.
5. Operations & Execution
Manage logistics, vendor coordination, venue management, and volunteer engagement.
Ensure smooth and professional execution of all events in line with timelines and budgets.
Conduct debriefs and evaluations post-event to capture learnings and impact.
6. Reporting & Documentation
Track event performance, donor data, and revenue metrics.
Maintain accurate records of event participation, sponsorships, and outcomes.
Submit monthly reports to the GM - RM (Retail) and CRMCO.
Other Extended Duties
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Resource Mobilization and Communication Officer (CRMCO).
Required Qualifications and Experience
Graduate/Postgraduate in Event Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of experience in event fundraising, marketing, or community engagement.
Proven track record of planning and executing successful fundraising or public events.
Strong networking, coordination, and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
Creative thinker with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings during events.
Key Deliverables
Event Revenue:
Raise a minimum of ?1.5-2 Cr annually through events and campaigns.
Event Execution:
Organize 6-8 major fundraising and awareness events annually.
Donor Engagement:
Involve at least 1000+ individual participants annually across events.
Community Partnerships:
Build partnerships with 20+ schools, RWAs, or community institutions annually.
Sponsorship Conversion:
Secure sponsorships from at least 10 new partners annually.
