Job Summary:



The Operation Theatre (OT) Trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical training to students enrolled in the OT Technician program. The trainer will ensure students develop the necessary knowledge, technical skills, and professional behavior required to perform efficiently in an operation theatre setting.

Key Responsibilities:



Training & Instruction

Deliver classroom and laboratory-based sessions as per the prescribed curriculum. Demonstrate OT procedures, instrument handling, sterilization, and infection control techniques. Ensure students understand surgical protocols, equipment setup, and assisting roles during surgeries.

Academic Support

Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment papers. Evaluate student performance through assignments, practicals, and examinations. Maintain records of attendance, performance, and feedback.

Practical Exposure

Coordinate clinical training or hospital visits for students. Supervise students during internships and ensure adherence to OT safety protocols.

Professional Development

Stay updated with the latest advancements in surgical procedures and equipment. Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and quality improvement activities.

Administrative Duties

Maintain discipline and a professional learning environment. Assist in student counseling and mentoring for career readiness.

Required Qualifications & Experience:



Bachelor's or Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology / Allied Health Sciences / Nursing or equivalent. Minimum

2-3 years of experience

working in an operation theatre or as a trainer in a healthcare institution. Strong understanding of surgical instruments, sterilization procedures, and OT protocols.

Skills & Competencies:



Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to manage and engage students effectively. Sound knowledge of infection control and patient safety. Strong organizational and documentation abilities. Empathy, patience, and leadership qualities.
