I. JOB DETAILS
Job Title
Technician - Operation Theatre
Reporting Supervisor
Supervisor - Operation Theatre
II. JOB PURPOSE
Perform a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist Physicians in performing complex operations in the OT.
III. Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities -

• To assist anesthetists with high level of responsiveness & preparedness while in OT.
• To competently set up OT and equipment prior to each procedure & orientation of patient to OT.
• To assist the Surgeon in performing effectively in the OT.
• To assist with post operation monitoring of patient before shifting the patient to ICU or ward.
• To maintain safe work practices with respect to infection control and radiation safety.
• To attend to emergencies during and after working hours.
• To carry out regular calibration of laboratory equipment and regular maintenance.
• To provide technical guidance, assistance and instruction to new employees/ train new personnel. To participate in training
• To ensure safe utilization of equipments and proper waste disposal system.
• To adhere to company policies and practices on discipline and decorum.

• Anesthesia machine & technique knowledge.
• Sterilization techniques.
• Technical/Functional Competencies
• Well versed in Digital technology
• Knowledge of endoscopes.
• Good knowledge of machine upkeep and Inventory management.

IV. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Measurable Deliverables

• I.Patient/Customer Care
• Complete preparedness for case. No case to be delayed due to non-preparedness by the technician.
• II.Process Orientation/ Documentation
• Maintains and monitors adequate stock of materials and their optimal use.
• Maintain equipment uptime. Minimise downtime
• Compliance with infection control standards
• O.T. sterility checks compliance and clearance.
• Compliance with SOPs and completion of documentation.
• III.Cost and Revenue
• Minimise wastage of material
• IV.People
• Mandays of training attended

V. JOB REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATION
Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician course . Preferably with B.Sc.

Experience

• 0-3 years experience as a fully qualified Operation Theatre Technician.

Behavioural Skills

• Time management and coordination.
• Sound Health.

Language Skills

• English
• Hindi
