Ensure the operating theatre and all necessary equipment (e.g., anesthesia machines, C-arms) are properly set up and functioning.
Verify the availability and stock of all instruments, medicines, and supplies needed for the surgery.
Maintain a sterile environment and implement infection control protocols.
Intra-operative Assistance:
Assist the surgical and anesthetic teams by passing instruments, preparing drugs, and managing fluids and blood products.
Monitor patient transfer between the stretcher and the operating table.
Ensure proper functioning of equipment like oxygen supply, suction systems, and anesthetic gas scavenging systems.
Post-Surgery Responsibilities:
Assist with patient transfers to recovery areas.
Maintain accurate records of equipment and activities.
Participate in the cleaning, sterilization, and fumigation of the operating room.
Manage biomedical waste according to established protocols.
ICU Staff (e.g., Nurse) :
Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
Continuously monitor and assess the condition of critically ill patients.
Identify changes in patient status and respond promptly with necessary interventions.
Treatment and Care:
Administer medications, treatments, and advanced life support therapies as ordered by physicians.
Provide direct patient care, managing complex health conditions.
Equipment Management:
Operate and manage specialized ICU equipment, including ventilators, patient monitors, and infusion pumps.
Coordination and Communication:
Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Maintain effective communication regarding patient status and needs.
Emergency Preparedness:
Respond to life-threatening situations with appropriate interventions.
Ensure the ongoing availability and functionality of critical care equipment.
