Job Summary:
We are looking for skilled and experienced
OT Staff Nurses (Scrub Nurses)
for our
Pediatric and Obstetrics Operation Theatres
. The candidate must be proficient in assisting various surgical procedures, maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring patient safety during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.
Assist surgeons during pediatric and gynecological procedures including C-sections, laparoscopies, D&C, hysterectomies, and pediatric surgeries.
Ensure correct handling, sterilization, and preparation of instruments, sutures, and surgical materials.
Maintain sterile technique and aseptic environment at all times.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies promptly.
Pre-Operative Responsibilities:
Verify patient identity, consent, and preoperative assessments.
Assist in patient positioning, site preparation, and draping.
Confirm availability of surgical instruments and implants before surgery.
Intra-Operative Responsibilities:
Count and record sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after the surgery.
Monitor and ensure sterility and OT discipline throughout the procedure.
Assist anesthesiologists when required.
Post-Operative Responsibilities:
Help transfer patients safely to the recovery room.
Ensure all instruments and supplies are accounted for and cleaned/sterilized after the procedure.
Document surgical details, used items, and incidents if any.
General Responsibilities:
Coordinate with surgical, anesthesia, and sterilization teams.
Maintain OT records, daily reports, and surgical logs.
Follow infection control practices strictly.
Support in emergency OT procedures as needed (e.g., emergency C-section or neonatal surgery).
Participate in drills, training, and quality audits.
Requirements:
Education:
GNM / B.Sc. Nursing (Mandatory KNC - Nursing Council Registration)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years as OT Nurse, with at least 1 year in Pediatric or OBG surgeries
Basic knowledge of pediatric and maternal surgical procedures
Strong sense of responsibility, aseptic technique, and surgical coordination
Willingness to work rotational shifts, on-call duties, and emergencies
