Job Description
OT Staff Nurse/ Nurse: Receiving Patients for surgery / procedures from the in-patient / ICU and Eye department. Checking the vital signs, serology, consent and check list for surgery which is filled by the ward Nurse. Arranging the theatre for surgery according to the cases. Maintaining 100% sterilization. Assisting for Minor surgeries like General, Plastic, ortho and uro surgery. Circulating work for all major and minor surgeries at OT-1 & OT-2. Before and after surgery surgical instruments, Gauze and mopping pad are cross checked with the surgery list. Advised followed as per anesthetist instructions like elevation, starting of oral fluids Explanations are given to the Patient attenders regarding post operative instructions. Shifting patient to the ward / ICU after surgery as instructed by anesthetist. Handing over of case sheet and Histopathological test to the IP Nurse. Online entries made in the system after surgery. Maintaining of stock in Operation theatre and replacing short expiry drugs. Preparation of dressing materials for surgery like Gamge pad, Gauze, Long pad, Abdominal pad, Steripad.
