Key Responsibilities:

Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile instruments and equipment. Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and other items needed during surgery. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic techniques throughout the procedure. Count surgical instruments and materials (e.g., sponges, needles) before and after the procedure to ensure nothing is left inside the patient. Monitor the patient's condition during surgery in collaboration with the circulating nurse and anesthetist. Support the surgical team in positioning the patient and ensuring proper draping. Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens. Assist with post-operative care and equipment sterilization. Collaborate with the surgical and perioperative team for smooth case flow. Maintain accurate documentation related to surgical procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

Registered Nurse (RN) license (as per local/regional requirements). Scrub nurse training or operating theatre experience required. Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and preferably Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
