Role Overview:


We are seeking a committed and dynamic

Orthopaedics Registrar

to join the orthopaedic oncology unit at a leading multi-specialty hospital in Bangalore. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified orthopaedic surgeon to gain in-depth exposure to complex musculoskeletal cases, particularly in the domain of orthopaedic oncology.
Working under the mentorship of experienced consultants, you will be involved in clinical evaluation, surgical assistance, and multidisciplinary care planning for patients with bone and soft tissue tumors. The role also offers opportunities for academic growth and clinical research in a structured and high-volume setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support & Patient Care


Assist senior consultants in evaluating patients in OPD and IPD settings, with a primary focus on orthopaedic oncology cases.
Conduct initial assessments, take patient history, perform clinical examinations, and document findings.
Participate in the management of both benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors, trauma cases, and post-operative recovery.

Surgical & Procedural Assistance


Provide intra-operative support in surgeries such as tumor excision, limb salvage procedures, biopsy, reconstruction, and other orthopaedic interventions.
Monitor patients post-operatively and contribute to early identification and management of complications.

Diagnostics & Coordination


Coordinate investigations including imaging (X-rays, CT, MRI) and laboratory/biopsy reports.
Ensure timely follow-up and communication of results to the care team and patient families.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration


Participate in tumor board discussions, pre-surgical planning meetings, and post-op case reviews with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and rehabilitation teams.
Act as a liaison between departments to facilitate integrated care delivery.

Documentation & Compliance


Maintain up-to-date records of patient history, daily progress, surgical notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with hospital standards.
Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, patient safety protocols, and ethical medical practices.

Academic Involvement


Engage in departmental audits, CME sessions, case presentations, and journal clubs.
Contribute to clinical research and case documentation relevant to orthopaedic oncology.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications


MS in Orthopaedics from a recognized medical institution.
Valid registration with the Medical Council of India or respective state council.

Experience


6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience post-MS, preferably with exposure to orthopaedic oncology or musculoskeletal tumors.

Core Competencies


Strong fundamentals in orthopaedic examination, diagnosis, and basic surgical techniques.
Familiarity with principles of tumour staging, biopsy planning, and limb reconstruction is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
Team-oriented, dependable, and open to continuous learning.

Preferred Attributes


Exposure to working in a tertiary care hospital or teaching institution.
Interest in clinical research, publications, or pursuing a fellowship in orthopaedic oncology.
