Job Description

A restaurant order taker receives and processes customer orders for food and beverages, requiring strong customer service skills, menu knowledge, and efficient communication with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Key responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders accurately, entering them into a Point of Sale (POS) system, collecting payments, packaging food for takeout, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service throughout the dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Interaction:Greet guests warmly, answer questions about menu items, and provide recommendations. Order Processing:Accurately take food and beverage orders, process them through the POS system, and ensure they are communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff. Menu Knowledge:Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage selections. Payment & Packaging:Collect payment from customers and package food items for take-out or room service orders. Coordination:Collaborate with culinary and bar staff to ensure timely and correct order fulfillment. Service & Satisfaction:Ensure a positive customer experience by promptly resolving any issues or complaints and maintaining cleanliness. Cashiering:Accurately perform cashiering duties and handle payments. Teamwork:Work collaboratively with other team members to meet guest needs and support overall restaurant operations.

Required Skills and Qualities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service focus. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Attention to detail for accurate order taking. Basic computer skills, especially with POS systems. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and move around the facility.
