Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our Oracle database environments. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for database installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and ensuring high availability and security of the database infrastructure. The role will also support development and production environments, working closely with application and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software (on-premise and/or cloud).
Manage Oracle databases (Oracle 12c/19c/21c), including creation, tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Ensure database performance, integrity, and security through regular health checks and tuning.
Implement and test backup and recovery strategies using RMAN or other tools.
Monitor database storage and capacity planning.
Perform database patching, upgrades, and migrations (including to/from Oracle Cloud/OCI).
Configure and manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
Automate database tasks and maintenance using scripts and tools.
Support developers and application teams with SQL tuning and query optimization.
Document procedures, configurations, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.
Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS architecture, SQL, and PL/SQL.
Experience with Oracle tools: RMAN, Data Pump, Enterprise Manager (OEM), etc.
Hands-on experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions (RAC, Data Guard).
Proficient in performance tuning and query optimization.
Understanding of security and user access management in Oracle databases.
Familiarity with Linux/UNIX shell scripting and operating system-level troubleshooting.
Good knowledge of ITIL processes and change management.
