Skills Required:

Oracle DB internals: Understanding Oracle-specific features like PL/SQL, packages, triggers, sequences, and data types. PostgreSQL internals: Knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, SQL syntax, and capabilities. Translate Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code to PostgreSQL SQL and PL/pgSQL. Handle differences in syntax, functions, and stored procedure logic. Understanding how to convert Data types Constraints, indexes, sequences, Users, roles, and privileges Performance Tuning Backup & Recovery Ensure rollback plans are in place in case of issues. Basic Linux/Unix system administration Database deployment and configuration Ora2Pg (most commonly used open-source tool) and pgloader Write ETL scripts in Python, Shell, or SQL for data transformation and movement. Automate migration workflows using scripting.
