Work with Architecture & Business Unit teams to support, deploy, troubleshoot, and implement enhancements and perform patching, upgrades based on architecture specifications & business requirements. Lead database design discussions with both software developers and DBAs

• Translate business requirements and logical designs into working physical database designs

• Will collaborate and communication with all levels of technical and senior business management

• Will require on-call 24X7 support of production systems on a rotation basis with other team members

. Responsible for setup, configure, & maintain Big Data highly available infrastructure globally that are scalable, deploy appropriate monitors for alerting etc.

Responsible for deployments, performance tuning, capacity planning and security within the OCI Open Source Hadoop big-data platforms

Perform operational duties such as Spark/Hadoop/ODI/Golden Gate cluster upgrades, patching, monitoring jobs, capacity management, etc.

Experience in Automation using (ex: Teraform -Python, PowerShell etc.)

Translate business requirements and logical designs into working physical database designs

Interface with infrastructure, network, security and operations teams to resolve problems with application/Big Data systems.

Will collaborate and communication with all levels of technical and senior business management

Assist in the review and audit of platform security policies, and experience to work closely with the security and auditing teams (internal audit, PWC and PCI payment card industry).

Open and coordinate service requests with different Vendor Support

Ensure alignment with current IT standards and controls including SDLC & ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change management).

• Review and evaluate performance of the databases

• Perform change control requests (code deployments) when approved.

• Schedule Monthly, Quarterly maintenance windows when required.

• Supporting Billing Month/Quarter/Year End Activities over the Weekend.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications - External

Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

Education/Experience:

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and 5+ years of related experience.

Need strong experience with Hadoop Administrator.

Cloud Implementation Experience desired (Apache Hadoop, Spark, Solr, OCI ODI, OCI golden gate etc)

Must have working knowledge of Big Data components such as YARN, HDFS, HIVE, Spark, ODI, Golden Gate etc.

Experience in automating deployments and monitoring/alerting tasks (preferably Terraform).

Knowledge of programming & scripting languages a plus -Python, Hive, etc.

Experience of cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Oracle Cloud etc

Working Knowledge of YARN, Hive, Spark, etc.

Strong Problem Solving and creative thinking skills

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are required

• Knowledge and understanding of the business strategy and use of back office applications.

• Ability to adapt to multi-lingual and multicultural environment, additional language skills are a bonus.
