Job Title:

Optometrist - Diabetes Care

Department:

Reporting To:

Ophthalmologist / GM Operation

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Optometry (B.Optom) / Diploma in Optometry Valid registration with relevant council (if applicable) Experience in

diabetic eye screening

preferred

Experience

1-3 years experience in hospital/eye clinic Fresher with good clinical exposure may also apply

Key Responsibilities

Perform

comprehensive eye examinations

for diabetes patients Conduct

visual acuity testing, refraction, slit lamp examination

Screen for

Diabetic Retinopathy, cataract, glaucoma

Assist ophthalmologist during

retinal examinations and procedures

Perform

fundus photography, OCT, visual field tests

(if available) Maintain proper

patient records and reports

Educate diabetes patients on

eye care, vision protection, and follow-ups

Ensure infection control and

NABH safety standards

are followed Coordinate with

diabetologists and nursing staff

for patient care Counsel patients on

spectacles, contact lenses

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of

diabetes-related eye complications

Good patient handling and communication skills Ability to work in a multidisciplinary hospital setup Attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?17,000.00 per month
