Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive eye and vision examinations.
Diagnose and manage visual disorders, refractive errors, and ocular diseases.
Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and low vision aids.
Detect and monitor systemic conditions that affect the eyes (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other healthcare professionals for advanced treatment when necessary.
Provide patient education on proper eye care, preventive measures, and contact lens hygiene.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical and legal standards.
Use advanced diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, slit lamps, tonometers, and fundus cameras.
Stay updated with current developments in optometry and participate in continuing education programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optometry (B.Optom / M.Optom) from a recognized institution.
License:
Valid registration with the appropriate state or national optometry council (as applicable).
Experience:
Minimum 1-3 years of clinical experience preferred (freshers may also apply).
Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, patience, and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
Clinic / Hospital / Optical Retail Setting.
May involve weekend or evening shifts depending on patient needs.
