Job Description

Role Overview:
The Optometrist will be responsible for providing vision care services to patients. They will conduct thorough eye examinations, diagnose and treat visual problems, and prescribe and fit glasses and contact lenses. The Optometrist will also provide advice on visual hygiene and may refer patients to other specialists if necessary. They will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess and diagnose visual problems
Prescribe and fit glasses, contact lenses, or other visual aids
Provide advice on visual hygiene, including the correct use and care of glasses and contact lenses
Educate patients on the importance of regular eye check-ups and maintenance of eye health
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient information
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and referrals
Stay updated with advancements in the field of optometry and participate in continuous education and training
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Optometry from an accredited institution
Valid optometry license in the relevant jurisdiction
0-10 years of experience in optometry
Strong knowledge of eye anatomy, visual systems, and common eye conditions
Proficient in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing visual problems
Familiarity with a wide range of lens types and ability to accurately prescribe and fit glasses and contact lenses
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize patient care tasks
Required Skills:
Clinical expertise in optometry and ability to diagnose and treat visual problems
Proficiency in using optometric equipment and tools
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in prescribing and fitting visual aids
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
