Job Summary:

The Optometrist will be responsible for performing comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing vision problems, prescribing corrective lenses, and assisting ophthalmologists in patient care and clinical procedures. The role demands strong clinical skills, patient communication, and teamwork within a multidisciplinary eye care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed refraction and vision assessments for patients. Diagnose refractive errors, binocular vision problems, and other visual disorders. Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and vision therapy as required. Assist ophthalmologists during pre- and post-operative evaluations. Perform diagnostic tests such as keratometry, tonometry, A-scan, and OCT (if trained). Counsel patients on lens care, eye hygiene, and visual ergonomics. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely documentation. Participate in eye camps, screenings, and outreach programs. Support the clinic in achieving patient satisfaction and service quality standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's / Master's degree in Optometry (B.Optom / M.Optom) from a recognized institution. Valid registration with a recognized Optometry Council (if applicable). Good communication and interpersonal skills. Clinical accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Familiarity with modern ophthalmic instruments and procedures.

Work Environment:

Eye Hospital / Eye Care Center setup. Interaction with patients, ophthalmologists, and paramedical staff. May involve rotational shifts and weekend duties as per hospital schedule. 2-4 Years experience
