Job Description

Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses as per their prescription. Recommend appropriate lens types, frame styles, and add-on features based on lifestyle and visual needs. Accurately document customer prescriptions and preferences for future reference. Coordinate with optometrists to ensure customers receive complete and accurate vision care solutions. Stay informed about the latest trends in eyewear fashion, materials, and optical technologies. Ensure outstanding customer service to build trust, encourage repeat visits, and boost referrals. Monitor and manage inventory of eyewear, accessories, and maintenance tools. Help with preliminary vision screening and equipment setup for eye exams.

Responsibilities

Guide customers in choosing the right eyewear solutions tailored to their needs. Offer detailed explanations of lens options, such as single vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses. Maintain up-to-date customer profiles and prescription records with accuracy. Support optometrists by preparing patients and assisting during examinations. Keep display shelves clean, well-stocked, and in line with visual merchandising standards. Process orders, adjustments, and repairs with attention to detail. Follow up with customers regarding order status, fitting, and post-sale support. Stay educated about optical tools, coatings (anti-glare, blue-light filters), and frame durability features.

Requirements

Diploma in Optometry, Certificate in Optical Dispensing, or equivalent experience in optical retail. Strong understanding of lens types, frame materials, and customer lifestyle matching. Excellent verbal communication and sales skills. Ability to build rapport and educate customers with clarity and patience. Familiarity with optical instruments and basic vision screening tools. Organized, punctual, and a team player with attention to detail. Prior experience in eyewear retail or an optical clinic is preferred.
