Position Title: Senior Optics Engineer
Qualification: B.Tech / M.Tech / PhD in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field with excellent academic record
Experience: 4-6 Years

Role Overview:



We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Optics Engineer with hands-on experience in IR, UV & Visible spectrum optical system design, simulation, and prototyping. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Zemax/OpticStudio, optical component selection, system performance optimization, and light-matter interaction.

Roles & Responsibilities:



Optical Design & Simulation:

Design and optimize optical systems operating in Infrared (IR), Ultraviolet (UV), and Visible wavelengths. Perform ray tracing, tolerance analysis, illumination design, and stray-light analysis using Zemax/OpticStudio.

Prototyping & Validation:

Build and test optical prototypes, perform optical alignment of assemblies, and verify system performance. Conduct experiments for detector characterization, source modulation, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) measurement.

Spectral Analysis & Component Selection:

Select appropriate IR/UV sources, detectors, filters, lenses, and optical coatings. Analyze material absorption, scattering behavior, and thermal effects on optical performance.

Documentation & Compliance:

Prepare detailed optical design documents, test plans, and alignment procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant optical safety and regulatory standards.

Internal Collaboration:

Work closely with electronics, mechanical, and firmware teams to integrate optical subsystems into complete instruments.

Required Skills & Experience:



4-6 years of hands-on experience in optical design, sensing, photometry, or instrumentation. Strong expertise in Zemax/OpticStudio for optical modeling and optimization. In-depth understanding of IR, UV, and Visible optics, sources, and detectors. Experience with optical alignment techniques and laboratory measurement equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:



Experience working with NDIR analyzers, UV analyzers, spectroscopy systems, or optical sensors. Knowledge of CAD tools and scripting or data analysis using MATLAB or Python.
