Group Company: HDFC Bank Limited Designation: Operations - Officer - Currency Chest (41_496_100180) Office Location: Currency Chest (Chd.Indl Area), Currency Chest (Chd.Indl Area) Position description: Operations - Officer - Currency Chest Primary Responsibilities: Collect cash from the Custodians in morning and put the same in respective branch cash boxes on the basis of i-Chest Withdrawal Request and locking the box. Ensuring that cash van limit is not exceeded at all times both while sending cash to the branches & while picking up cash from the branches. Accompanying Cash Vans for delivery & pickup of cash from branches. Also assisting bank staff as a joint escort for cash movement to other bank currency chests/branches & RBI Witness the processing of soiled note remittance at RBI & sample counting / verification of Issuable cash diversion to other banks. Handling sealed packets of gold/silver bars/foreign currency - from/to branches/currency chest as instructed. Accompanying bank staff & helping while withdrawing cash across the counter from RBI and Coin withdrawals. Primary checking of Soiled, Mutilated, Discrepant notes etc. and highlighting to bank officials. Counting of bundles & notes received in remittance at the currency chest. Counting of Notes as prescribed while issuing & receiving for processing by the empanelled vendor. Additional Responsibilities: Manual sorting of notes as and when instructed. Data entry in systems as permitted by the Bank. Follow up with the branches for responding to the defective notes entries reported by the currency chest. Coordinating/visiting link branch for cash sourcing in respect of shortages/discrepancies etc. Assist in ensuring that there are no stationery outages.
