Day-to-Day Roles of General Manager (Poker Club & Restaurant)
1. OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
Ensure smooth functioning of poker room & restaurant daily.
Oversee floor operations, check table openings, player entries, game lists.
Monitor kitchen operations, food quality, order flow, delays.
Verify cleanliness, hygiene, and ambience across all zones.
Monitor shift handovers with proper briefing and documentation.
Inspect CCTV randomly to ensure operational discipline.
2. STAFF SUPERVISION & MANAGEMENT
Conduct daily team briefing for all departments.
Approve staff shift allocations, replacements, and overtime.
Ensure attendance compliance via biometric/app.
Address HR issues before escalation.
Evaluate staff performance, behaviour, grooming & discipline.
Train supervisors and managers on SOPs.
3. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE & VIP RELATIONS
Greet VIPs, high rollers & regular players.
Handle escalations related to dealer disputes, billing, table changes.
Monitor table service speed for food & beverages.
Address feedback and ensure timely resolution.
4. FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT & RECONCILIATION
Verify daily revenue reports (cash counter, buy-ins, rake, F&B).
Approve purchase orders, expenses, petty cash reconciliation.
Check stock variance for food, liquor, and gaming consumables.
5. POKER OPERATIONS CONTROL
Track table occupancy, rake generation & game flow.
Inspect dealer rotations and break schedules.
Ensure games operate per club rules & compliance.
Audit tips distribution and float logs.
Ensure responsible gaming practices.
6. RESTAURANT OPERATIONS CONTROL
Approve menu changes, food tasting & pricing.
Monitor hygiene, food cost, and wastage.
Ensure inventory levels for food, beverage, snacks & smokes.
Coordinate efficient food service to poker tables.
7. SECURITY & SAFETY MANAGEMENT
Brief bouncers & guards on entry rules and banned players.
Ensure cash movement security.
Manage conflict resolution procedures.
Check fire safety equipment & CCTV functionality.
8. MARKETING & PROMOTIONS
Execute daily offers, tournaments & promotions.
Coordinate with marketing team for social media & events.
Track ROI of promotions.
9. INVENTORY & PURCHASE CONTROL
Review purchase requests & vendor quotations.
Check daily consumption reports.
Control wastage & pilferage.
10. REPORTING & DOCUMENTATION
Prepare daily GM report to owners.
Ensure department heads submit respective reports.
Maintain logs for incidents, player feedback & promotions.
11. COMPLIANCE & REGULATORY DUTIES
Ensure licences are valid and renewed.
Follow fire & safety norms.
Ensure labour law compliance.
12. STRATEGIC DECISION MAKING
Optimize staffing levels per shift.
Improve food cost vs sales ratio.
Identify revenue growth opportunities.
Adjust marketing strategy based on trends.
