Role Overview
The Operation Manager in the garment industry oversees the complete production cycle--from raw material sourcing to final shipment--ensuring efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery. This role requires strong leadership, planning, and knowledge of garment manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Management
Plan, organize, and control daily production operations.
Ensure timely shipment by monitoring production flow and critical paths.
Coordinate with cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing departments.
Address bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
2. Quality Assurance
Work closely with QA/QC teams to maintain product standards.
Ensure compliance with buyer quality requirements and audits.
Monitor AQL levels and minimize rework and rejection rates.
3. Material & Inventory Planning
Work with merchandising and procurement teams for raw material planning.
Manage fabric, trims, and accessories inventory.
Ensure materials arrive on time to avoid production delays.
4. Manpower & Team Leadership
Supervise production floor staff and supervisors.
Train team members on efficiency, safety, and quality.
Set performance targets and evaluate staff productivity.
5. Cost & Efficiency Control
Optimize production costs and reduce wastage.
Improve operational efficiency through lean manufacturing practices.
Maintain machine utilization and minimize downtime.
6. Coordination & Communication
Maintain strong communication with Merchandisers, Designers, and Buyers.
Attend pre-production meetings and ensure sample approvals.
Provide daily/weekly production reports to management.
7. Compliance & Safety
Ensure factory compliance with workplace safety standards.
Maintain documentation for audits (social, compliance, technical).
Skills & Requirements Technical Skills
Strong understanding of garment production (Woven/Knits/Sweaters).
Knowledge of industrial machines, SMV/efficiency calculations.
Familiarity with Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and other productivity tools.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or related field.
