Job Summary

Thaikkadan Steels is seeking an experienced and result-oriented

Operations Manager

to ensure smooth and efficient execution of factory production and site operations. The role involves managing fabrication activities, supervising production employees, coordinating measurement and fitting teams at site, and ensuring timely, high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Factory Operations

Plan, schedule, and monitor daily and weekly production activities. Supervise fabrication of steel doors, windows, SS handrails, and steel staircases. Ensure quality standards, proper finishing, and timely completion of works. Control raw material usage and minimize wastage. Coordinate machine usage, maintenance, and workshop discipline.

Manpower Management

Manage and supervise production employees and technicians. Allocate manpower efficiently between factory and site works. Maintain attendance, productivity, and discipline. Provide guidance, instructions, and on-job support to teams.

Measurement & Site Coordination

Manage measurement teams for accurate site measurements. Ensure drawings and measurements are correctly communicated to production. Coordinate with clients, site engineers, and supervisors during site visits. Resolve site-related issues promptly to avoid delays.

Fitting & Installation Management

Plan and manage fitting teams for on-site installation works. Ensure proper installation, alignment, and finishing at site. Monitor timelines and ensure customer satisfaction. Coordinate transport, tools, and materials for site works.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to quality standards at factory and site. Implement basic safety practices for workers and site teams. Identify and resolve operational risks proactively.

Reporting & Coordination

Report daily and weekly progress to the Managing Director. Maintain production, manpower, and site activity records. Coordinate with purchase, accounts, and sales teams for smooth operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field (Practical experience in steel fabrication is highly valued)*
Minimum

3-5 years of experience

in steel fabrication / structural works. Strong hands-on experience in factory and site execution.

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and people-management skills. Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving ability. Good understanding of fabrication drawings and measurements. Ability to handle multiple projects and teams simultaneously. Good communication skills (Malayalam required; English preferred). Honest, responsible, and result-oriented mindset.
