The Operations Head will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and optimization of
state-level environmental projects
. This role ensures seamless coordination across stakeholders, efficient resource utilization, regulatory compliance, and achievement of project outcomes aligned with environmental sustainability goals.
Lead and manage state-wide environmental projects from initiation to closure.
Translate state and national environmental policies into actionable operational plans.
Develop annual and quarterly operational strategies aligned with program objectives and sustainability goals.
2. Project Execution & Delivery
Oversee the complete project lifecycle including planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per defined quality standards.
Identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
3. Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with state government departments, district administrations, urban/local bodies, NGOs, vendors, and consultants.
Act as the primary point of contact for all state-level stakeholders and partners.
Facilitate inter-departmental collaboration and resolve operational bottlenecks efficiently.
4. Team & Resource Management
Lead, mentor, and manage state and district-level operations teams.
Ensure optimal utilization of human, financial, and technical resources.
Build team capacity through structured training, performance management, and regular reviews.
5. Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
Establish and track KPIs, SLAs, and performance dashboards.
Ensure full compliance with environmental laws, regulations, ESG norms, and funding guidelines.
Prepare detailed progress reports, MIS, and presentations for senior leadership and government authorities.
6. Financial & Vendor Management
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for state operations.
Manage procurement processes, contracts, and vendor performance.
Ensure transparent, compliant, and audit-ready financial practices.
7. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Leverage technology and data-driven solutions for monitoring and execution.
Promote best practices in sustainability, waste management, climate resilience, and environmental conservation.
Experience & Eligibility Criteria
8-12 years
of experience in operations and end-to-end program management.
Minimum 5+ years
of experience managing large-scale, multi-location or state-level projects.
Prior experience in
environmental, infrastructure, sustainability, or government-led programs
is highly preferred.
Proven experience working with
government bodies, multilateral agencies, CSR partners, or large implementation agencies
is desirable.
Mandatory Requirements
Local candidate only
(resident of the concerned state).
Proficiency in the local/state language is mandatory
(spoken and written).
Willingness to travel extensively across the state
(Pan-State Travel required).
Strong understanding of local administrative systems, governance structures, and ground-level implementation challenges.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
