The Operations Head - Logistics is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end logistics operations at Book Water Tech Pvt Ltd. The role includes managing godown operations, labor workforce, and delivery tracking to ensure seamless execution of the company's logistics functions. The ideal candidate will lead a team to ensure operational efficiency, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Godown Operations Management:
Supervise and coordinate activities across all godown facilities.
Implement inventory management systems to track stock levels, damages, and reorder points.
Ensure proper storage conditions and compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
Conduct regular audits to maintain inventory accuracy and prevent losses.
2. Labor Workforce Management:
Oversee hiring, scheduling, and training of labor teams across multiple godowns.
Monitor labor performance and address issues such as absenteeism or underperformance.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for labor tasks like loading, unloading, and packaging.
Ensure adherence to workplace safety guidelines and labor regulations.
3. Delivery Tracking & Fleet Management:
Monitor and track daily deliveries to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
Coordinate with drivers, loaders, and delivery partners to address operational bottlenecks.
Optimize routes and delivery schedules for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Resolve delivery-related customer complaints and improve the overall delivery experience.
4. Process Optimization & Reporting:
Analyze logistics data to identify areas of improvement in cost, time, and efficiency.
Implement tools and technologies for real-time tracking of inventory and deliveries.
Prepare and present regular reports on operational KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as on-time deliveries, inventory turnover, and cost per delivery.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate with the sales, customer support, and finance teams to ensure alignment in operations.
Plan for peak demand periods by coordinating with stakeholders to manage stock and delivery capacity.
Key Requirements:Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
MBA or relevant certification in Logistics/Operations Management is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of managing multi-site operations and teams.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of logistics, warehousing, and inventory management.
Ability to lead and motivate large teams, including labor and drivers.
Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple godowns simultaneously.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience in the water delivery or FMCG sector is highly desirable.
Familiarity with compliance requirements related to warehousing and labor management.
