Head of Operations (Furniture)Summary

The Head of Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for the

strategic planning, execution, and oversight of all operational functions

across the company, ensuring efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production, distribution, and fulfillment of furniture. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence and supporting the company's growth strategy. Deep knowledge of modular furniture and all kinds of wood is a must.

Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership and Planning



Develop and implement

operational strategies

and annual plans that align with the overall business objectives for growth and profitability. Work closely with the Executive Team (CEO, CFO, etc.) to forecast operational needs and set

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

, such as production cycle time, inventory turnover, and delivery completion rates. Lead initiatives for

continuous process improvement

, including the adoption of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles in the production facilities.

2. Manufacturing and Production Management



Oversee the entire

furniture production lifecycle

, from raw material planning to finished goods assembly, ensuring optimal workflow and resource utilization. Ensure all manufacturing operations meet stringent

quality control (QC)

standards and customer specifications, minimizing the defect rate and scrap. Having deep knowledge of all kind of furniture and modular furniture most. Manage facility operations, including equipment maintenance, capacity planning, and adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

3. Supply Chain and Logistics



Develop and maintain a resilient

supply chain

network, managing relationships with raw material suppliers and negotiating favorable contracts. Oversee

inventory management

across manufacturing and warehousing to ensure optimal stock levels, prevent stockouts, and maximize inventory turnover ratio. Direct all

logistics and distribution

activities, including warehousing, transportation, and final mile delivery, ensuring timely and damage-free fulfillment.

4. Financial and Budget Management



Develop, manage, and monitor the

operational budget

, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Oversee expenditures related to production, logistics, and personnel, ensuring all financial targets are met. Analyze operational data, cost of goods sold (COGS), and production metrics to provide regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.

5. Team Leadership and Development



Lead, mentor, and manage a team of operations managers, supervisors, and staff across various departments (Manufacturing, Warehouse, Logistics). Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Operations department. Oversee workforce planning, including staffing, training, and performance evaluations to ensure the team has the skills and resources needed.

6. Customer and Sales Support



Ensure

order fulfillment

processes are optimized to deliver an exceptional customer experience, from order entry to final installation. Collaborate with Sales, Retail, and Customer Service teams to align operational capabilities with customer demands and service level agreements. Address and resolve high-level operational issues impacting customer satisfaction, such as complex delivery challenges or quality claims.

Required Qualifications



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the

furniture, home goods, or a related manufacturing/retail industry

.

Technical Skills:

Expert knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, manufacturing processes (e.g., woodwork, upholstery), and quality systems. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and data analysis tools.

Leadership:

Proven track record of successfully leading large, multi-functional teams and driving significant operational improvements and change management.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, communication, and decision-making abilities.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
