About Job
Plum Personal
In the midst of the healthcare crises like COVID, and after multiple nudges from HRs and
members in our customer base, we realized something fundamental - while group medical
coverage (GMC) takes care of the basics, it can never replace the security of a personal
insurance plan. This insight led us to start building Plum Personal in April 2023, beginning with
term insurance and later expanding into health insurance in June 2024.
Since then, the team has grown from 3 to 15 people, and the business has scaled 5x - making
it one of the newest and most exciting verticals at Plum. We're just getting started, and there's
immense opportunity to shape how millions of Indians protect their families with truly
personalized insurance solutions.
Having started Plum Personal, we understood that policy placement and issuance is a lot more
nuanced than what we thought initially. While we've built the initial processes, we need
someone who's passionate about building better processes and insurance partnerships with our
partners.
This role involves managing end-to-end operational processes - from data and documentation
to coordination with insurers - ensuring accuracy, speed, and compliance in every policy we
issue.
Role Responsibilities
Own and refine the end-to-end process of policy placement and issuance for Plum Personal.
Coordinate across insurer teams and internal stakeholders to ensure faster movement of cases and timely issuance.
Collaborate with insurers to design faster, more reliable, and scalable issuance workflows.
Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks across quoting, documentation, and policy issuance.
Build strong working relationships with insurer partners to ensure alignment and speed in execution.
Work closely with internal teams (product, ops, and tech) to automate and improve existing processes.
Bring a problem-solving and process-driven mindset to enhance customer experience and efficiency.
Track key metrics such as turnaround time, error rates, and process adherence - and use data to drive improvements.
Role Requirements
0-2 years of relevant work experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excel is your comfort zone - you can slice and dice data, use formulas, and build meaningful dashboards or trackers. (Intermediate proficiency preferred.)
Strong analytical mindset - you enjoy using data to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements.
A collaborative team player who supports colleagues and always keeps the customer's interest at the center.
Solution-driven - you bring clarity, not chaos; and focus on fixing problems rather than just flagging them.
* Proven examples of ownership - you've taken initiative and delivered outcomes that went beyond your defined role
