Theatre Nurse / Operating Room Nurse

Job Summary

The Theatre Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. They assist the surgical team, maintain a sterile environment, and ensure patient safety and comfort in the operating theatre.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare the operating theatre, equipment, and instruments before surgery Assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery Handle surgical instruments and supplies safely and efficiently Prepare patients for surgery and provide post-operative care Maintain accurate patient and surgical records Ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of theatre equipment Respond promptly to emergencies in the operating room Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and ethical guidelines

Qualifications & Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Nursing (GNM / BSc Nursing) Valid Nursing Council registration Experience in operation theatre or surgical ward preferred Knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment Strong communication and observation skills

Work Environment
