Job Description

Operational Management:

Supervise the daily functioning of the operation theatres. Ensure proper scheduling and coordination of surgical procedures. Allocate OT rooms based on surgery priority and emergency requirements. Monitor inventory and availability of surgical instruments and consumables.

2. Staff Supervision:

Supervise OT nurses, technicians, and support staff. Prepare duty rosters and assign responsibilities. Conduct performance evaluations and arrange training sessions.

3. Sterilization & Infection Control:

Ensure strict adherence to sterilization protocols and infection control practices. Oversee the cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical equipment and OT areas.

4. Coordination & Communication:

Liaise with surgeons, anesthetists, and other departments for smooth surgical workflow. Communicate surgical schedules, changes, and delays to relevant teams.

5. Compliance & Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, instruments used, and patient information. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH/JCI accreditation standards, and government regulations.

6. Equipment Management:

Ensure availability, maintenance, and proper functioning of OT equipment. Report malfunctioning or damaged equipment and coordinate with the biomedical team.

7. Emergency Management:

Manage emergency OT setups efficiently. Ensure readiness of OT staff and resources for emergency cases.
