Job Description

An Operation Theater Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining the operation theater, assisting surgical teams, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment for surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Operative Duties:

Prepare the operation theater before surgery. Ensure surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized and ready. Assist in patient positioning and draping. Check functionality of OT equipment like anesthesia machines, lights, and monitors.

Intra-Operative Duties:

Assist surgeons and anesthetists during procedures. Pass surgical instruments and materials as required. Maintain a sterile field and follow infection control protocols. Handle emergency situations effectively.

Post-Operative Duties:

Dispose of medical waste following safety protocols. Clean and sterilize instruments and OT equipment. Ensure proper documentation of used materials.

General Responsibilities:

Maintain stock of OT supplies and report shortages. Follow hospital policies and safety guidelines. Assist in the shifting of patients before and after surgery. Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and anesthetists for smooth OT functioning.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

Diploma / Certification in OT Technology or relevant field.

Experience:

0-2 years (freshers can apply).
