Job Description

Key Responsibilities1. OT Management & Supervision

Oversee day-to-day functioning of the operation theater. Ensure readiness of OT for scheduled and emergency surgeries. Allocate OT staff according to surgical schedules. Supervise OT nurses, technicians, and support staff.

2. Patient Safety & Infection Control

Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Monitor sterilization processes and maintain sterility standards. Implement WHO surgical safety checklist and time-out procedures. Ensure safe handling and disposal of biomedical waste.

3. Equipment & Instrument Management

Ensure availability, proper functioning, and maintenance of OT equipment. Maintain inventory of surgical instruments, consumables, and linen. Coordinate with biomedical and maintenance departments for repairs. Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

4. Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, and other departments. Ensure timely communication regarding surgery schedules and changes. Assist surgeons and anesthetists during procedures when required.

5. Documentation & Records

Maintain OT registers, surgical counts, and equipment logs. Ensure proper documentation of procedures, incidents, and audits. Prepare reports related to OT utilization, infections, and performance.

6. Staff Training & Development

Orient and train new OT staff. Conduct in-service education on OT protocols and safety measures. Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.

7. Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH/JCI standards (if applicable). Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits. Report and manage incidents, near misses, and adverse events.

8. Emergency Preparedness

Ensure OT readiness for emergency and trauma surgeries. Participate in disaster management and code blue protocol

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?70,000.00 per month
