Job Description


An Operations Manager in a jewelry wholesale business is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the company, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations, including inventory management, order processing, quality control, logistics, supplier relations, and compliance with industry regulations, all while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction within the wholesale jewelry market.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock rotation, prevent overstocking, and minimize stockouts.
  • Implement robust inventory tracking systems to accurately record incoming and outgoing stock.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze sales trends to forecast future inventory needs.
Order Processing:
  • Efficiently process customer orders, including verifying availability, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to ensure accurate order entry and communication with clients.
  • Manage order fulfillment process, including packaging, shipping, and delivery tracking.
Quality Control:
  • Establish and enforce strict quality standards for all incoming jewelry items.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections on all products before shipment to customers.
  • Identify and address any quality issues with suppliers.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management:
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries and competitive pricing.
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers to optimize delivery routes and costs.
  • Manage customs compliance procedures for international shipments.
Operational Efficiency:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and minimize errors.
  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for cost reduction and productivity enhancement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational effectiveness.
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant industry regulations, including labeling, gemstone certification, and import/export laws.
  • Implement robust security measures to protect inventory and customer data.
  • Manage risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Team Management:
  • Lead and supervise a team of warehouse personnel, including order pickers, packers, and shipping coordinators.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of the wholesale jewelry industry, including market trends, product knowledge, and quality standards
